Elon Musk & Taylor Swift Can Now Hide Their Private Jet Details – Thanks to the FAA

Tracking celebrity private jets just got harder! The FAA has launched a system allowing private aircraft owners—like Elon Musk and Taylor Swift—to keep their registration details, including their names and addresses, out of public records.

This change, part of the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024, could impact popular jet-tracking accounts that monitor celebrity flights. In recent years, these trackers have gone viral, exposing the jet usage of billionaires and stars. But they’ve also faced backlash—Taylor Swift even sent a cease-and-desist letter to well-known tracker Jack Sweeney in 2023.

With this new system, celebrity jet tracking may soon become a thing of the past. Privacy or public interest? The debate continues.
