Real Madrid Keep Treble Dream Alive with Dramatic Extra-Time Winner

Real Madrid kept their hopes of a historic Treble alive in spectacular fashion as Antonio Rüdiger's extra-time header secured a thrilling victory over Real Sociedad, booking their place in the Copa del Rey final.

Substitute Rüdiger rose highest to meet Arda Güler's corner in the 115th minute, glancing a header past goalkeeper Álex Remiro and sending the Santiago Bernabéu into wild celebrations.

The second half saw an exhilarating flurry of goals, with five scored in just 21 minutes as both teams battled for a spot in the final in Seville.

Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, Sociedad struck first in the 16th minute through Ander Barrenetxea. However, teenage Brazilian sensation Endrick responded in style, chipping in a delightful equalizer on the night to restore Madrid's aggregate advantage in the 30th minute.

The match then exploded into chaos in the final stages. A David Alaba own goal in the 72nd minute handed Sociedad the lead, only for Mikel Oyarzabal to make it 3-1 on the night and 3-2 on aggregate shortly after. But Madrid responded immediately—Jude Bellingham’s superb volley leveled the tie once again.

Aurelien Tchouaméni thought he had sent Carlo Ancelotti's side into the final with an 86th-minute header, capitalizing on a goalkeeping error from Remiro. However, Sociedad refused to back down, with Oyarzabal once again stepping up to nod home in stoppage time, forcing extra time.

With penalties looming, Rüdiger delivered the decisive blow in the additional period, sealing a 5-4 aggregate triumph for Madrid.

Madrid's dream of a first-ever Treble remains intact. They trail Barcelona by three points in La Liga, face Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals, and are now one step closer to their 21st Copa del Rey title.

The final opponent will be determined on Wednesday when Barcelona visit Atlético Madrid, following an electrifying 4-4 draw in the first leg of their semifinal clash.
